Officials of the Delhi government will not get money to buy fuel for their vehicles from October 1 if these are not fitted with GPS by then. This has been decreed by the chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal.

“It has been brought to my notice that some senior officers in the department are enjoying up to six vehicles. This must stop. The exercise is aimed at stopping this misuse. However, as expected, the bureaucracy, right from top to bottom, wants to derail it to continue with the ongoing misdeeds,” chief minister Arvind Kejriwal stated in a note to the general administration department (GAD) with strict directions to install the devices in all government vehicles by September 30.
